Description:
Butterflyfishes look like smaller versions of angelfish, but unlike these, lack preopercle spines at the gill covers.
Food and Diet:
Most species of butterfly fish feed on the plankton in the water, coral and sea anemones and occasionally snack on small crustaceans
Size and Weight:
They mostly range from 12 to 22 cm (4.7 to 8.7 in) in length.
Life Expectency:
about 7 years
